Magical Canan 04

Let’s see… we have Nana Mizuki playing Cerulean Blue in a way I haven’t heard her EVER do, learn more about Evergreen, TWO monsters-of-the-week, and already an Cerulean Blue & Magical Canan teamup. Not bad at all but crappy animation and standard magical girl show plot will most likely be the end of Magical Canan if things keep up as they currently are.
Natsuki goes talk to the Queen about something, not exactly sure what beside them needing to capture only two more(?) of those crystal thingies. Also I think something about Natsuki not showing his human form to Chihaya or something… dunno. Back on the home front, Chihaya has made Natsuki a nice little doghouse for him to sleep in. Of course he’s not happy about it at all since it’s outside while he liked sleeping inside instead. Unfortunately, that is the life of an magical pet
At school the girls are going to go over Sayaka’s house and Chihaya invites the new girl (who’s name escapes me) to come too. She accepts and off to Sayaka’s mansion they go! And boy, is she loaded (is it some rule in the magical girl formula that one friend MUST be rich as all nine hells??!?!)! The girls, unfortunately, end up in Sayaka’s english tutor session by world-famous(?) professors so school fun continues. Afterwards, the girls hit the baths (blasted steam!) and change into some silk PJs. Around this time new transfer girl gets attacked by an monster(?) and it’s up to Magical Canan to save the day again.
Unfortunately things do not go well as the new monster-of-the-week seems more powerful than the ones in the past. Just when things look bad, they get worse as Cerulean Blue finally makes her appearance. I have to say that hearing Nana Mizuki use a normalish if not ojou-sama type voice was…. weird to say the least. Anyway, Cerulean Blue basically mocks Canan while watching the battle passively. Help it or not, this sort of pisses off Chihaya enough to finish off the monster and see what the deal is with Blue. Too bad Cerulean Blue has already left… and what’s this, the monster doesn’t have a crystal? Something is afoot but Natsuki and Chihaya put that aside as transfer student girl wakes up and thanks Chihaya (at this point, she has already turned back to normal).
Following day, Natsuki spill the beans about his homeland Evergreen and why they’re looking for the crystals (basically flashback to the first episode prologue). Funny scene here as Chihaya moves Natsuki’s house back inside (special treatment or something) and next thing she knows, he transforms to his human form. She was… shocked to say the least
Just as Natsuki sort of finishes his tale about Evergreen his Monster Radar(TM) goes off. Time for some more Magical Canan action!
Canan faces off this weird creature thingie (can’t really describe it) and all seems well and good, until its partner comes out to bring up support. 2-VS-1 isn’t working in Canan’s favor.. that is until Cerulean Blue comes back again (and with typical magical girl rival laughter enterance) and helps out. That is, tries to do all the work herself until both her and Canan realizes they’ll need to team up to finish the job. One quick Cerulean Blue and Magical Canan twin attack later and they have finished off the enemy, but only securing one of the two crystals thingies. Natsuki congrats Chihaya on another fine job and looks like Cerulean Blue has already left the scene. As they look for her, Natsuki notices an shadowy figure atop one of the nearby buildings, thinking outloud that it might be his brother but the shadow soon disappears aftewards.
Ends on an hilarious note as Chihaya is relaxing in the bath at home, runs out of shamploo/soap, and inevitably shows Natsuki her naked glory. I will say, however, that it was all Natsuki’s (perverted) fault ^_^;;
I don’t know how or why, but I’m still trucking on with Magical Canan. I seriously see this series going nowhere as the plot is pretty predictable and the characters are of the typical bunch. Really, the only thing keeping me watching are the few choice seiyuu talents keeping the show somewhat together. If it wasn’t for that, I would have given up on Magical Canan long long LONG ago.
