Magical Canan 05

I wonder if I’m the sole english speaking-typing anime blogger left, as it looks like Matthew hasn’t updated his Magical Canan entries in awhile. Luckily, I think Satoshi might also take up the series bringing it to a total of three english speaking anime bloggers doing Magical Canan. w00t!
Anyway, the quick lowdown on this episode basically goes like this: Chihaya dreams of her being saved by her Magical Mom and Father as the two escape, Natsuki gets put into manual labor at Angel Kiss, girls at work try to dissect him alive, Strange Man that’s probably Chihaya’s Father eye-stalks her, Chihaya loses consciousness and dreams back being an young child, and Natsuki and Chihaya have a heart-to-heart where he spills the beans (this time I’m positive!) about Evergreen and the crystals.
Since I don’t feel like doing a play-by-play like I did with episode four, I’ll just mention the important points that should be noted. The whole scene with Chihaya “dreaming” of an magical girl carrying an baby and being helped by an guy was just… something wrong. It so gives away that obviously, the baby is Chihaya while the magical girl is none other than her mom while the guy was the one who stole the crystals in the first place. The fact I say he’s her father is because it’s just SO FRICKIN’ OBVIOUS plus that’s what happened in the hentai version
I also found it odd that the Strange Man, who is no doubt her father, was not recognized by Chihaya’s mother. Either the two are playing one heck of an game of lies or I don’t know what. The hints are there, even being so obvious as the Strange Man as Chihaya’s mom about her wedding ring(?). argh! I can see this plot an mile away! And while I admit it’s partly because of the hentai version, I doubt it’ll be surprising even if I didn’t know. All I’m waiting for is when Chihaya’s father will tell everyone why he stole the crystals and shiz…. that should be fun XD
Oh yea, no Cerulean Blue or Magical Canan around this time. Probably why there were two monsters-of-the-week last episode as this one was more of an “slice of life” kind of thing. Just get back to fighting monsters already dang it! I’m sorry, but Magical Canan has no hope of becoming a decent magical girl show at all unless something miraculous happens. Fat chance of that though, hmph.
