what’s BAWE you ask? Well, it’s my take on vh1’s “Best Week Ever” show where various actors, actresses, comedians, etc comment about the various highlights of the week. Ranging from what was on this week on America TV to late breaking news events to music “Best Week Ever” puts a funny spin on the standard news-reporting genre. So in the avenue of parodying “Best Week Ever”, I’ve thought of doing a “Best Anime Week Ever” weekly blog entry where I’ll highlight on various anime related news, music, etc that I found interesting. What I’m really hoping for if there’s enough support, is to get other bloggers to join by having their picks and views on what’s currently going on in the anime/manga/japanese culture world.

I still don’t know how exactly I want to do BAWE but I figure I’ll just put it out there and see what others think. I think it would be really cool if some people would be interested in BAWE (either to just see it happen or be active in it) so leave comments and suggestions either here or on the SB. Any help I can get would be great!

Just to sum how I currently plan to do “Best Anime Week Ever”:

• Posted weekly between Friday and Sunday
• Top Recommended Media of the week (i.e. anime, music, manga, DVDs, CDs, etc)
• Highlights some of the top anime related news for the week
• Highlights from other anime blogs
• Short blurs of any new series / releases that’s worth a look
• Weekly Guest contributors (rotation?)
• Small clips, sound bits, and pictures

The final conclusion: “Farewell, Ultimate Girls.”

There was so much fluff and cheese one could make an fluffy cheesy-like substance and have lots of leftovers but somehow, the final episode of Ultimate Girls was a nice delight to watch.

I don’t know if anyone noticed, but I slightly changed the navigation of the site.

• Changed to permalink, as mentioned before. Also had to get rid of my split listings of series as the permalinks would eventually change as I finished the series. If anyone knows of a good wp plugin to sort and display categories in specific “sections” without dealing with the parent/child biz, I’m all ears.
• Now on individual pages, the previous and next nagivation are sightly different. The entries closest to the arrows are in the order by date while the ones next to them are entries in the same categories. For example, if you were looking at say Mai-HiME 22 entry the navigation might be: “<< GSD 23 | Mai-HiME 21" and "Mai-HiME 23 | Tactics 20 >>”; you get it? I hope the slightly new nagivation won’t be a problem for anyone but leave SB comments to tell me what you all think.

I’ll also point out the new feature that people probably already know about that both Matthew’s Anime Blog and Sea Slugs! Anime Blog use. Live(ish) RSS feeds from other anime blogs are taken and constantly posted and updated on their respective sites for the readers’ pleasure. It’s a pretty cool feature if you ask me since if you haunt MAB’s SB as much as I do, the news feed will keep you updated on any new entries from various bloggers. I wil admit though, I’m still a more “go check out their sites one by one” type of guy and don’t use RSS feeds at all (though understand how useful it is). Cause you never know if various blog sites will have new layouts or some interesting tidbit that can only be found in the ShoutBox that RSS feeds might not get. Plus, checking out all the anime blog sites I usually haunt helps to waste time

Multiple possessions, destruction of public property, Haruka’s memories, and Raikou’s & Ibaragi’s plans for Haruka are slowly revealed as Tactics reaches its final arc. The tricky staff of the series almost had me believing this was going to be filler episode, but luckily continued onward with the aftereffects of Ibaragi’s (and Raikou’s) “attacks” from the previous episode.

Also, thanks to Kabitzin for pointing out the permalink feature of WP. I never really thought about it but decided to check it out. Pretty cool. Either link style (with the permalinks or “old school” ?p=xxx) works so there is no need to worry about updating links okay?
