Comic Party Revolution 07

Yuu centric episode as Kazuki and co head to Yuu’s family hot spring resort for the local Kansai Comic Party.

Naked girls covered by censor steam, other various fanservice, plenty of Yuu screen time, and a question popped to Kazuki by Yuu that may change his fate all lead up to a funny if not predictable Comic Party style ending. If you’re a Yuu fan, odds are you’ll enjoy this episode however since I’m not a big fan it was somewhat dull for me. But don’t let me ruin the episode for you, as there are plenty of other scenes to help satisfy non-Yuu fans like a mad Ikumi that’s too cute for words!

Kazuki is laying around on his bed pretty bored as it’s inbetween Comic Parties with not much to do. Yuu suddenly bursts in telling Kazuki about going to an onsen (hot springs). She plans to go to the Kansai Comic Party, which is ironically in her neck of the country and wants Kazuki’s help. He’s somewhat hesitate but agrees to go… as do EVERYONE ELSE as Taishi enters from the ceiling, Eimi & Mizuki are drinking tea, Subaru & Chisa via his deck area, Ikumi in his bed, Aya outside on the deck looking through the window, and Miyabi entering in from the front door. Like I said, everyone has a key to Kazuki’s apartment whether he likes it or not ;)

Anyway, they all arrive at Yuu’s family onsen resort place a little worse for wear after the ride there. Yuu gives some history on her family’s business and how she’ll be taking over eventually etc etc. If you know anything about Comic Party, odds are you’ll probably know everything Yuu mentions here; the only thing slightly new is for Yuu’s family to look for a husband for her (I think) to help run the place together. The group quickly heads to the onsen thereafter.

Much like GIRLS Bravo first season’s problem with steam, all the “juicy” stuff gets blocked out :( Still great seeing all the female cast in various stages of naked-glory but anyway, the girls are enjoying the place as currently they’re the only people there (I think). Subaru even tries to swim for awhile in the big onsen until Miyabi stops her. Some very juicy Aya screentime with Yuu and Mizuki noticing how beautiful Aya’s body is left me and Kazuki very happy :) Speaking of Kazuki, he’s on the male side trying not to listen to the girls’ conversation too much when Guy comes in to join him. Usual awkward silence whenever Guy is on the scene (there is a small scene where Guy cries tears of “joy” after the girls mention how his younger sister Ikumi is growing up) until Taishi pops up from under the water tell Kazuki they must do what all males would do… peep on the girls! Kazuki definitely doesn’t want to since it is a crime (plus of the possible physical damage that will result if found) and tries to stop Taishi, only to slip and fall through the wall/fence separating the two sides. Kazuki gets an eyeful and then-some of Miyabi before the girls (esp. Mizuki) react in typical fashion: throw all possible blunt objects at the male intruder! Kazuki is out for the count as Guy and Taishi watch but not long before Eimi takes them out with two well aimed wash bowls (Guy cries yet again with joy that his Ikumi is growing up). Yuu just watches the whole scene silently…

The girls are now relaxing after the drip in the onsen with drinking some refreshing drinks or playing ping-pong or table hockey. I must say the two games never looked more interesting O_O! Outside Kazuki is trying to recover from the attack as Yuu goes to check to see if he’s okay. Yuu and Kazuki suddenly get “close” which eventually leads to Yuu hugging Kazuki after he almost falls. Before anything more can happen Eimi spots them, wanting to know what exactly she just saw the two doing. Yuu and Kazuki deny anything as round 234234 of Eimi-Yuu arguing starts. A little later Kazuki is walking through the halls wondering what’s up with Yuu recently as he overheads Yuu and her mother (I assume) talking. Yuu’s mother saying Kazuki would probably be perfect or something while Yuu says it’s not time yet as it’s her problem so she’ll handle everything herself. Kazuki instantly thinks Yuu might like him and remembers her mentioning about having a husband to run the family business with.

The same evening, Kazuki accidentally bumps into Yuu who is carrying dinner to the group (or other customers staying there) and with some skill saves everything before the food falls. Some small talk between the two as Kazuki gets Yuu to let him deliver the food since they’re friends blah blah blah. Kazuki goes to leave when Yuu stops him by hugging his back, asking to stay like that for alittle while. Yuu leaves and has Kazuki even more confused, now almost sure something is going on. Everyone is eating and enjoying dinner as Taishi tries to fire up the group saying they must do singing! Taishi gets booted off the stage after he starts stripping and acting more Taishi-like while Guy is about to get up to show them all… that is until Ikumi firmly tells her oni-chan not to. Guy easily backs down and all is back to “normal.” Kazuki is still somewhat lost in thought as he’s positive Yuu wants him to run her place together. Eventually the group and their activities die down as it’s getting late when Subaru notices Kazuki is gone…

The man himself is back in the onsen to relax and think over the day’s events when Yuu comes out of nowhere to join him. Definitely shocking Kazuki, Yuu goes on to say how pretty the moon looks at that time of night and how the onsen is co-ed now. The big moment arrives as Yuu mentions about the place and some other stuff I’ve forgotten, but eventually ask Kazuki for a favor. Kazuki definitely thinks she wants him as an husband and one quick fantasy later he’s all nervous and not exactly sure what to do. He likes Yuu and all and wouldn’t mind helping manage the place but he still has his doujinshi that he wants to do. Yuu is initially surprised by Kazuki’s confession but ask what is Kazuki talking about. He tells her what he thinks Yuu wanted from him but by Yuu’s reaction, has completely gotten wrong. Not one to miss an chance, Yuu plays into Kazuki’s misunderstandings and gets him to do the favor she actually wanted (I laughed at how easily she baited Kazuki).

The day of the Kansai Comic Party and there is already a huge line (including an Madarame look-alike from Genshiken). Everyone else is tired from staying up late and getting up early for the convention as they wonder where Kazuki and Yuu are. Yuu comes in an minute later telling everyone to be prepared and basically hype them up. They’re there to sell her doujin and get more promotion for her family’s onsen resort (I think). And to help in the cause, the family boar mascot is there too… who is none other than Kazuki! Everyone is shocked as we learn the true reason Yuu wanted Kazuki to go; she had planned all along to ask him to dress up and help in such an costume! Kazuki isn’t too happy with his current arrangement as he’s once again been had and all his preparation for his heart (feelings) were lost. All those “moments” with Yuu were actually her getting his body measurements! The convention is about to start so Yuu gets everyone hyped again and ready to go as we’re left with Yuu admitting she was surprised about Kazuki’s confession as she too… Kazuki overheads her mutter asking what she said, which Yuu gets out of ending the episode.

I’ll have to admit when I first watched this episode of Comic Party Revolution I hadn’t expected the punch-line to be Kazuki in an boar costume until the very last seconds before he actually showed up as such. Also thought the fanservice of some of the girls when playing games were un-needed and I was thoroughly pissed about the fog! Thankfully the random non-Yuu moments more than made up for it like the Ikumi & Guy parts and when everyone literally showed up at Kazuki’s out of thin air. Animation was also decently constant if I remember correctly which is a improvement over the varying quality of the previous episode. So overall not too bad if you’re not a Yuu fan and probably real good if you are.

Next episode: Ikumi and Mizuki centered one playing tennis ala Prince of Tennis. Mada mada dane desu~!
