Kaleido Star 49

Sora’s training in the Angel’s Act comes to an end as she completes the last training hurtle while at sea. Everyone else, meanwhile, is working hard towards their own hopes and dreams which start to take form through the upcoming performance preparations. Just as everyone is coming to together after seeing an preview of Sora’s Angel’s Act, a last minute challenge from Layla might ruin Sora’s attempt for a conflict-free stage!

I hate to say this, but how predictable were some parts of this episode? You just know whatever problems might pop up at this point will eventually be solved somehow. Sora not finishing her training? Never a doubt in my mind. Anna’s comedy team being successful? Of course. May inviting Rosetta to perform with her? Too obvious. Layla’s last minute challenge? Geez I wonder why she was training in the Angel’s Act for the past 2+ episodes?!
It’s almost kind of sad how “bad” Kaleido Star has gotten towards the end. There just isn’t enough tension and doubt about whether or not the loveable cast will succeed. You know somehow everything will work out. Everything is fitting into place too perfectly while any attempt at conflict is quickly resolved within minutes. I want to say I’m looking forward to the Layla and Sora showdown but already having seen it…

I agree that Kaleido Star is becoming predictable, but hang in there! The last two episodes are worth watching if you’ve been waiting for the Angel Act.
