Update Status: Sorry

Long story short is I’ve decided to drop a lot of series I’ve had on blogging backlog hell.
- Futakoi Alternative
- Gokujou Seitokai
- Gundam SEED Destiny
- Ichigo 100% TV
- Magical Canan
- Peach Girl
- Tactics
- Yakitate Japan
Part of the reason I’ve finally decided to drop some series is I simply don’t have the time and effort. I honestly don’t think I can will myself to try to blog a good 100+ entries on various anime episodes when there are plenty of better reviews by my anime blogging peers. Another reason has to do with the fact I’ve either personally finished watching the series or dropped watching mid-way, so it’ll be very difficult for me to sit through them again to blog.
I’m sorry for my entire five people readership looking forward to me catching up on some dropped series. I just can’t do it. I feel really horrible about it too since I never honestly thought I’ll drop a series I’ve already started to blog no matter the rhyme or reason.
In a way though, my decision to drop the majority of my backlog will be a massive weight off my chest; an welcome one at that. I’ll be able to concentrate a lot more on the few series I’m still willing (and enjoying) to blog. No more chore in avoiding to blog.
Once again, I’m truly sorry for dropping the bomb out of nowhere but I’m only one man and only can do so much.
I will, however, give some quick rundowns or final impressions on the series I’ve dropped.
Futakoi Alternative
Really is a must see series. The series had a good overall balance between the comedy and drama as we followed the lives of Rentarou, Sara, and Souju. Animation, voice aciting, and background music were all top-notch. I’ll admit the ending was cheesy but one had to root for the Sara-Rentarou-Souju ending; somehow the three of them together just made sense.
Only warning I would have to give someone who might want to watch the series is to take the unbelieveable action with a grain of salt. Enjoy the series for what it is, which at its heart was a love drama with a good mix of action and comedy.
Gundam SEED Destiny
I’ll probably be bashing GSD until the day I die. Obviously one should not have expected much from the sequel to the almost equally bad Gundam SEED but I had hope the staff would do better. Unfortunately it got much much worse!
Without me typing an laundry list of “what ifs” and “could have been better if” let’s just say Gundam SEED Destiny had decent new characters until they all got foreshadowed by the original GS crew. Also any love for the copied Gundams and GSD’s simple plot was not going to be found in me after watching the series either. Really the only two good things that came out of Gundam SEED Destiny were the Hawke sisters. Well, that and my newfound love for Maaya Sakamoto and Fumiko Orikasa roles.
Ichigo 100% TV
The Animation Deities must have felt Ichigo 100% was its whipping boy since horrible animation and shoestring plot made the series almost impossible to watch. I could have totally lived with the animation if the staff had more episodes that actually were from the manga instead of basically taking the characters and doing whatever-the-fuck-they-pleased.
Only positive I can say about the series is the excellent seiyuu cast giving voice to the series’ characters.
Magical Canan
Honestly, I stopped watching mid-way. I’m talking about when it was still only available in RAW form months ago.
One can read Satoshi’s review of the series, bless his kind soul, if anyone really wants to know what happens at the end.
Peach Girl
I really should at least finishing watching for my own sake, but I also stopped mid-way. This is also at the time when only the RAWs were out and subbing was way way behind. The series is pretty decent in all its melodrama glory with lies upon lies upon constant misunderstandings. I can only hope Momo finally got some type of happy ending with ONE of the guys after her… she really deserved it after all the grief and trouble she has gone through.
… and it’s Saeko Chiba damn it! I should have finished, if anything, just to hear more of her voice!
Tactics
The ending felt a little rush to me, plus the last minute “surprise” was literally just that; last minute. Seemed like Tactics was trying to work the human-demon relationship through the two main male protagonists but too many filler episodes plus bringing in the villians late royally messed up whatever pacing the series had.
Yakitate Japan
Honestly I shouldn’t even NEED to blog this show. Everyone and their mothers should be watching it. Period.
