Fate/Stay Night Prologue

Fate/Stay Night anime! Enough said.
Probably the only time I’ve done this, click on any of the thumbnails to get a full size version of the image
I’m in too much of a TYPE-MOON fanboy mode to actually review the short four minute prologue but much to say, it rocked on many levels! Sure it can’t compete with the CG of the game, but who in their right mind expects the anime quality to be exactly the same as its game counterpart? I know I don’t.
Even still, the animation quality is definitely better than some current anime out there. For one, the fighting scenes were just plain awesome. From the Archer versus Berserker graveyard battle to Lancer versus Saber at Emiya’s home, everything was a treat for the eye! I also can’t forget to mention the short added section of Fuj-nee, that even with the slight quality drop, was still a fun treat to watch.
Seiyuu wise… well I couldn’t be happier. Basically every character is voiced by a known japanese voice actor/actress. From the short prologue, I’ll have to give instant props to Kana Ueda (Rin), Ayako Kawasumi (Saber), Junichi Suwabe (Archer), and Miki Itou (Fuji-nee)… basically anyone who had more than one speaking line ^_^;; Good to see Kana Ueda in a more serious role that doesn’t necessarily require her to do an accent and I thought her part in the prologue was pretty spot on. Ayako Kawasumi also does a fine job, like she ever does less, especially during the scene her character Saber and Emiya Shirou meet. I know F/SN fans were jumping in joy over that particular scene! Junichi Suwabe, the man who plays so many villians finally gets to be a “good guy” of sorts for once! He definitely brings a new level of arrogant cool to his character Archer during his introduction scene; though hearing Junichi Suwabe’s engrish brings tears to my eyes. Finally but definitely not least, Miki Itou rocked it as the comedical Fuji-nee. period.
Pretty bad review right? Sorry but it’s extremely hard for me to write anything sensible considering I’m a decently big TYPE-MOON fan and have been waiting months to see the prologue. Only have to wait another month or two before the anime start and god knows until the DVDs come out. It’s already pre-licensed in the US by Geneon (I think) but odds are I might double dip and get both the R1 and R2 DVDs of the series. Me double dipping for the first, and hopefully only, time will without an doubt kill future purchases but I’m too big of a fan not to get both. Plus most of the time the R2 come with better goodies than their R1 counterparts so…
