Ryo and Ojo are getting along great as a couple. Shizuka over steps her luck with Ryo, totally pissing him off. Ryo totally ignores Shizuka as if she never existed. SD animation abound as usual.
The relationship between Ryo and Emiho continues as the episode starts with an homemade bento for Ryo by Emiho. Pretty cute scene here as Emiho is slowly but surly geting used to the whole “dating” thing. The moment between the two gets ruined, however, as the other girls (Akane, Shizuka, and Miki) are right next to them eating lunch; Akane & Miki wondering why Shizuka isn’t upset at Ryo at all. Shizuka gives the whole “Ryo is my one true love” corny lovely-dovey speech, slightly freaking out Akane & Miki. Cute SD scene here.
The next day, it’s yet another date between Ryo and Emiho. Where are they off to this time? The zoo of course, where there’s a bunch of cut scenes of the two enjoying their time there. At one point, the two have a little talk and it seems Emiho is definitely liking the whole dating thing; promising to call Ryo later that day as any couple would do
That lucky bastard!
Back at the apartment, Ryo is relaxing after his date with Ojo while Shizuka serves him up some tea. The rainy weather seems to set the mood as Ryo starts to wonder if Emiho made it back safe before the rain and the like, Shizuka answering his questions all the time. It takes Ryo a few seconds to realize this but when he does… he ain’t a happy camper. Apparently Shizuka has survillance on Ryo and anyone close to him 24/7 for their safety. A nice jesture, but done totally wrong. No wonder, how right after the date ended, he found an umbrella in his bag just as it started to rain. Shizuka (and her army of SD black suited men_ were spying on him! Either way, Ryo has hit his limit (even though Shizuka apologized, sorta) as Shizuka has gone too far this time! At the same time, Akane gets back and witnesses the tail end of the argument… only the weather, getting so bad that it temporary cuts the power and a ligthning strikes, that one can guess nothing good is about to happen.
After the little Ryo blow up, the episode ends by going a couple of days later where we see Ryo totally ignore Shizuka like she isn’t there. Akane is worried, and so is Shizuka though she doesn’t show it. One can only guess what will happen next.
Final Approach, while only half the length of normal anime episodes is still somewhat enjoyable. For me, it’s mostly cause half the cast is from Da Capo or other dating-sims / harem anime. I think if the voices were done by nobodies, I probably wouldn’t watch this series much if at all. The plot of a national forced marriage, while different, isn’t anything too strange or interesting. All it means is that one of the girls has the power of the government behind her… that’s bout it
